Community Football Outreach Training

Community Football Outreach Training is an ideal starting point for churches interested in using football as a tool to serve their community.

Alex took part in the training and now runs weekly sessions in Kings Cross, London. Here is what he shared with us:

“Ambassadors have been integral to me setting up the football outreach projects I currently have going.  Here’s one recent story that really encouraged me about the potential it has:

Jason* is in Year 9, supports Chelsea, has ADHD and anger issues to name a couple of things. He has been coming right from week one. One of the weeks, we got the kids to pray for each other.

Jason prayed, “God I thank you that Tommy supports Arsenal…it gives us something to rival on…it would be boring if we all supported the same team.”

At that moment, I thanked God in my heart. It seemed that the message that day about celebrating our differences had sunk in.”

Community Football Outreach Training lasts 6 hours, the CFO Training covers the following topics:

  • Introduction to Ambassadors Football
  • Biblical basis for using sport as an outreach tool
  • The templates and guides to start your own football outreach
  • Roles & Responsibilities for church & Ambassadors
  • Practical football sessions to use in your programme

There are CFO projects running with children & youth, men, women, marginalised and walking football. If you have a passion to share Jesus in your community, football is a great way of doing so. Check out our Community Football projects for examples.

“The training we received was excellent – practical, focused and pastorally wise. There was a good balance of teaching input as well as hands-on sports demonstration (which our team really enjoyed). Overall, we were encouraged, equipped and inspired as we started out with our gospel-hearted community sports ministry. We’re very thankful for the Ambassadors team and their support!” Santosh, Oak Hill Bible College

If you are already running a football outreach project or are thinking about starting, Ambassadors Football invite you to spend the day with us. We will help you look at the best practice on how to set up and run an effective church-based football project in your community.
