Goalside

P1070719     Goalside

In partnership with Scripture Union, Ambassadors Football is able to provide equipment and training to the local church for free to start a Goalside project in your local community!

What is Goalside?

Throughout the UK you are guaranteed to find two of things in every community 1) a church, 2) a football pitch, whether it be in a local park, leisure centre or a free to use community MUGA (Multi Use Games area.) At the heart of most communities is a space for people to come together for worship and somewhere to enjoy playing football. Many sports areas are unused for lack of people to help organise and supervise fun and safe sessions, instead of being used to counteract increasing health problems and rises in anti -social behaviour.

Through the Goalside Project Ambassadors seek to match the need from the community with the churches mission to reach out by inspiring, training and equipping churches.

“The partnership we have with Ambassadors is a massive help. We have 50 young people (aged 6-18) every Monday night and the relationships we have built up with them and their families is wonderful. They love coming to sessions and the way we have seen their character’s develop has been remarkable.” Mikhail, Christ Church London

Goalside Aims:

Goalside is about inspiring and equipping the church to adopt their local pitch and use it to impact their local area by improving health, reducing anti-social behaviour and building stronger relations within their community that enables them to share. Through the Goalside Project Ambassadors seek to match the need from the community with the churches mission to reach out by inspiring, training and equipping churches.

Why Run a Goalside Project?

It is simple and achievable to run. We do encourage people to attain FA Level one but this is not essential.

We want to make football outreach as accessible as possible, Goalside is FREE to join and we will provide:

  • Free kit
  • Free training
  • Free publicity templates
  • Free support
  • Consultation visit to identify and risk assess a venue
  • Free weekly evangelistic discussion plans
  • Forms and templates useful for running sessions

Goalside is more than a project it is a football outreach community that existing projects are welcome to join.

“The training we received was excellent – practical, focused and pastorally wise. There was a good balance of teaching input as well as hands-on sports demonstration (which our team really enjoyed). Overall, we were encouraged, equipped and inspired as we started out with our gospel-hearted community sports ministry. We’re very thankful for the Ambassadors team and their support!” Santosh, Oak Hill Bible College
